First ACMRS Community Council Doctoral Research Abroad Scholarship Recipient Selected

Jessica Brown, a doctoral student in the Department of English at ASU, was selected by a committee of three professors from ASU, UA, and NAU to be the first recipient of the ACMRS Community Council Doctoral Research Abroad Scholarship program. The Community Council, which currently consists of six members of the community and the Director of ACMRS, pledged $5,000 per year for the award to support graduate students. Ms. Brown will be spending time in the British Library and the library of Pembroke College, Cambridge, working on her dissertation project, Making Saints See: Rewriting Anglo-Saxon Women in the Fifteenth Century. Her thesis focuses on MS Cotton Faustina B. III, an anonymous 15th-century manuscript containing the lives of Saints Æthelthryth and Edith, and the scholarship enables her to examine that manuscript and others in person. Congratulations Jessica! For more on the ACMRS Community Council and how to join it, click here.
