The 2016 Ennis Committee Book Festival

The 2016 Ennis Committee Book Festival will take place on Saturday, October 22 2016, at the Phoenix Downtown Campus of Arizona State University. Now in its second year, the festival was established by the Ennis Committee which is twinned with Ennis, Ireland, under the Phoenix Sister Cities program. The objective of the festival is for Phoenix and surrounding communities to participate in the one-day literary event and to build upon a connection with the twinning city of Ennis and their annual book club event. This year’s speakers include Professor Brian Caraher, the Chair of the English Department at Queens University Belfast, and co-founder of the Seamus Heaney Poetry Center, Professor Gregory Castle and Professor Michael Stanford, both on the faculty of Arizona State University, poet Daniel Tobin, and award winning Irish novelists Belinda McKeon and Louise Phillips.

Seeking Volunteers: ASU student volunteers needed for the October 22nd festival for a variety of activities to assist the attendees and vendors with festival information, logistics and setup/breakdown of the event. Further information will be posted on the Phoenix Sister Cities website at www.phoenixsistercities.org or contact Festival Chair, Anna Martinez by email or phone at (602) 312-4004.
